I’ve actually read this about Tyra from other contestants
and winners as well.

CariDee English, 27, who won the show's seventh season, has told how the experience has impacted her mental health and despite being crowned 'Top Model' she's struggled to get people in the fashion industry to take her seriously.
He comments were made in response to a forthcoming episode of Dr Phil which details how ATNM alum Jael Strauss has spiraled out of control since appearing in the popular series.'Tyra won't do anything [for Jael]. She provided a wonderful platform for girls to have a chance at their dream, but after there is no Tyra Mail.'I had to guide myself, and even though I won a model competition I still had no idea what the modeling business was like.'Despite it being six years since she won the modeling contest, Ms English says that he still struggles to get people in the modeling world to take her seriously.
Here’s my thing, while I understand that yes, people would
expect Tyra to help them after, and they probably would expect some type of
respect from the fashion industry after working with Tyra, however, what these
women are failing to understand is 1) You were on a reality show, so no matter
what, you did not have the same struggle that the other supermodels did, a lot
of them didn’t get to be on a reality show, a lot of them had to work extremely
hard to get where they got. 2) Reality TV is considered the lowest form of
celebrity, so deal with that as well, 3) Everyone was at the bottom at one time
or another. Everyone had to work hard
and was treated like crap when they were just starting out, just because you
were on a TV show and/or the winner for that show, doesn’t mean you should get
to be treated any better than the others that had to actually work their way
through.
Honestly, I believe that if you make it to a reality TV show
and if you actually win, then I think you need to work the hell out of it. Bump what anyone says and go get yours. I feel like the reason why a lot of the
models from ANTM ended up doing so poorly is because they felt they should be
handed something because they were on a TV show or the winner. Look at Eva, she won and she’s doing fine ON
HER OWN.
